Hoffi
joined CHTC for Scrooge in 2002 and has been
hooked ever since, playing the roles of Troppo the Mime in Salad Days,
Linda Low in Flower Drum Song and the wailing Ermengarde
in Hello, Dolly! Even when studying at university she
was determined to still take part in the chorus of Blitz!
and of The King and I. She is proud to be one of the
original members of the Youth Theatre and has taken on lead roles in a number of
the productions including You, Me & Mrs Jones, Once a Catholic, Daisy Pulls it Off,
The Gut Girls and Two Short Socks.
Recently she has also taken part in The Players productions including Love
Begins at Fifty and the Old Time Music Hall.
Her most recent roles were as Tina Lewis in the successful 2009 Players production of The
Love Nest, Ben in Still Waters
and Sophie Montmorency in
Still Waters.
Hoffi made her writing debut with CHTC in 2006 when she wrote the one act play
‘Anon’ which was brilliantly performed as part of
HADCAF. Anon received further success when theatre
group Ten in a Bed agreed to do a rehearsed reading with a professional cast and
team before an audience who were encouraged to critique the piece and ask
questions of the author.
Since then Hoffi has written Gone with the Books
(2007) for the Players and The Stairway To... (2007)
for the Youth Theatre. Recently Hoffi has also written Beowulf
and The Fate of King Minos for the Young Performers.
She is very grateful to CHTC for giving her the opportunity to see her writing
on stage and for all the support she has been given that has helped her develop
as a writer and a performer.
Hoffi was recently studying to become a journalist at Kingston University and
would love to become a theatre critic alongside working as a professional writer
of novels and scripts. She is currently working on a musical using the songs of
the Victorian music halls and a script satirising her time at university.
We will keep this page updated with Hoffi's progress and wish her the best of luck
for the future.
