Roushka
started with CHTC in 2002 when she took a last minute role in the
youth production of ‘You, me and Mrs Jones’. She
thoroughly enjoyed this experience and continued,
playing Fiona in the successful 2003 production of Salad days.
Roushka later took on roles in Once a catholic,
Happy as a Sandbag, Ritual for Dolls
and Daisy Pulls it off. These
experiences developed her acting skills and helped her to get accepted in to the
National Youth Theatre.
In 2004 Roushka started at Southampton Solent
University studying for a BA in Performing Arts. In her final year
production she played Hermia in A Midsummer Nights Dream
and graduated in 2007 with a
2:1degree. On her return from university she rejoined CHTC, taking the role of
Eve in
Gone With the Books. Most recently she has
appeared in the 2008 Town Show,
as Joyce Mathews in Blitz!
and in 2009 as one of the Royal Dancers in The King and I.
In 2008 she also performed with The Players in our very successful productions
of Love Begins at 50
and the Victorian Music Hall . Her most recent roles
were as Sara Ross in the successful 2009 Players production of The Love Nest
and Louise Montmorency in Still Waters.
Alongside these acting roles Roushka has taken over as Director with the CHTC Young
Performers. Last year, for her first production, these 6-8 year olds acted out the story of
Beowulf and they gave a fantastic performance. Roushka was
pleased that the
most recent production, The Fate of King Minos, was just as
successful.
Roushka is currently a primary school teacher and
the valuable experience she has gained with the Young Performers helped her
with her training for this.
We will keep this page updated with Roushka's progress and wish her the best of luck
for the future.
