Georgina HendryBusy Summer Ahead for Georgina Hendry

In April 2010 Georgie Hendry was cast as Carmen in the New Theatre Oxford summer youth project of the musical Fame. Carmen is the lead girl who dies in the musical and then appears at end and dances on a yellow taxi!

Georgie was chosen after a six hour audition session for which about 200 people turned up and queued.  She was really thrilled to get this big and challenging role.

Not content with that, she (and over 450 children age 8-19) went through two exhausting days of auditions for the summer youth project at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.  As a result of this she has now been cast as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.  Georgie is now doubly thrilled especially as the show is very popular this year due to the BBC search for Dorothy.
