The 2008 Children’s Theatre production  was 'a glittering, galloping musical' -
Roald Dahl's
"Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs". (Based on his Revolting Rhyme).  This was a delightful and amusing twist on a traditional tale that the children and the audiences enjoyed immensely.

  • Throughout  the rehearsals, the cast under Lynette Gridley's direction were as enthusiastic and revolting as the writers intended and they had a great time.

    • The show date was Saturday 5th July, at 2.30pm and 7pm.
    • The dress rehearsal was on Saturday 5th July at 11:00am.
  • Rehearsals took place each Thursday from 6.30 to 8.30pm including the half term Thursday of 29th May.

  • Casting took place on Thursday 17th April, 6.30pm – 8.30pm at the John of Gaunt Community Centre, Hungerford.  This date was in the school holiday because this gave more rehearsal time during the Summer Term.  If you wanted to register and you were away on April 17th or wanted to discuss anything else Lynette Gridley could be contacted on 01635 30506 between 6 – 8pm.

  • It was imperative that all cast members attended every rehearsal. The only exceptions were the school outward-bound trips that were unavoidable at this stage.

  • Children needed to dress appropriately for rehearsals in comfortable clothing and soft-soled shoes, preferably daps or plimsolls or jazz shoes.  They needed these in black for the production.

  • As rehearsals were two hours long, parents provided their child with a snack/drink to have during the break (they needed it!).

  • We had some great people on board: Norma Thompson our brilliant wardrobe mistress acquired costumes, Paul Hyde of Dr Jekyl Mobile Recording & Premium Banana was our sound man, Miss Tara was choreographer, Sid Liddiard did the lighting and Sam Williams, Alison Horne and Claire Cullen were our rehearsal assistants.
