The Players were proud to present……
Love Begins at Fifty
- A Farce in Two Acts by Raymond Hopkins

This very successful show ran Friday/Saturday 6th/7th June at the Croft Hall and was sold out on both nights.  The packed audiences were laughing throughout this very funny play and enjoyed it immensely.
Our condolences to those who were not able to get in and join in with the fun: Next time the secret is to book early!..

The play author, Raymond Hopkins, joined us for the Saturday Night performance and we are happy to say that he told us it was an excellent production!  He donates all his share of the proceeds to Multiple Sclerosis research (over £200 raised so far) so we are glad to be able to help towards such a good cause.

  • Tickets  £5 each were available from the box office

    • Performances at the The Croft Hall were on  June 6th & 7th at 7.30.  Also a matinee June 7th at 2.30.

  • Rehearsals suggested that performances of Love Begins at Fifty would be an hilarious evening out and this proved to be the case. This superbly written farce by Raymond Hopkins was constant source of amusement for the cast and the same was be true for the packed audience on both nights.

A Victorian Music Hall with licensed bar & victuals.
Part of HADCAF

Music Hall

Members of CHTC presented a Victorian Music Hall on Monday, July 7th and Tuesday, July 8th at 7.45pm at the Corn Exchange, Hungerford.

"At enormous expense (and for two nights only – so we humbly beg to suggest that tickets are purchased at patrons’ earliest convenience), we endeavour to enchant and enthral with a glittering gallimaufry guaranteed to galvanise gaiety – a categorical concentration of consummate conviviality carefully calculated to captivate the connoisseur.

Patrons were requested to attend in appropriate attire (though none will be turned away for impropriety of apparel!) and in readiness to raise the roof! A LICENSED BAR and victuals will rapidly replenish the energies expended in prodigious participation"

  • Tickets were available from the Box Office at Crown Needlework and cost £8 which included refreshments.
