In 2004 The Players were created as the adult drama section within The Community of Hungerford Theatre Company and presented Spot The Lady, a burlesque of "The Scottish Play" at the HADCAF One Act Play evening. Previously, in 2003, the formative Players supported the Youth Theatre in Once A Catholic at the JoG Technology College and in 2005 The Gut Girls, together with the Youth Theatre, in the round at Hungerford Corn Exchange. 2006/7 saw the premiere performances of ANON and Gone With The Books - both written by Hoffi Munt and performed in the Hungerford Croft Hall and Corn Exchange respectively. In 2008, 2009 & 2011 we had great success with the Raymond Hopkins farces Love Begins at 50, The Love Nest, and Love At Last at the Croft Hall and later at Herongate Leisure. In 2009 we also had a successful run with Theatre In The Arcade - a unique and intimate experience where we performed an evening of theatrical entertainment from within the famous Hungerford Arcade. |
