The Company

From its conception in 1978 by a small group of local enthusiasts, the Theatre Company has grown enormously. The objectives, though, have not changed all that much.  They are ‘to foster and develop interest and participation in amateur live theatre in the community of Hungerford and surrounding area.

Today the membership exceeds 200 local people, most of whom actively participate either on stage or behind the scenes. Each year there are 5 or more productions staged in local facilities entertaining a total audience of more than 1,000 local people.

The Company goes from strength to strength, but despite it’s growth, there is always room for more and we would love you to be part of it’s future.

The Web Site

This web site aims to provide information for existing members and prospective members of the Community of Hungerford Theatre Company as well as for members of the public. The main site objectives are to help networking by providing current news and pictures relevant to the activities of the group.  As the site builds, a history will be created that can be accessed by any interested parties. We aim to develop good links with local community groups and the Hungerford Town web site to help increase awareness and interest in what we do.

We hope to develop the social side of the club with support from this web site in communicating and pulling people together for social events, theatre trips, get-togethers etc.
