The Community of Hungerford Theatre Company exists to excel in the presentation of amateur theatrical productions and the performing arts. Starting as the Town Show in late 1978 from an inspired idea of John Miles and the late Don Bolton, the first performance was in February 1980. The Company has since grown way beyond the aspirations of it’s founders and now includes five groups of performers, directors and staging crew with an age range from 6 years to 60+ years. Our objectives have not changed that much since the start and they are as follows: -
"to foster and develop interest and participation in amateur live theatre As the organisation has grown groups have been formed naturally to allow children, youths and adults to work creatively with their peers and collectively to produce some enormously entertaining and expressive theatre, bringing much enjoyment to cast and audiences alike. Today the membership exceeds 200 local people, most of whom participate actively either on stage or behind the scenes. Each year there are five or more productions staged in local facilities entertaining over 1,000 members of the local public.
The Company goes from strength to strength, but despite it’s growth, there is always room for more
people and we would love you to be part of it’s future.
Please feel free to browse around this site and if you would
